“We’re not just about building heaters…we’re about helping people”.

Brandon Borschel nailed it.

The Cadet Heat Sales Territory Manager couldn’t have said it better during a sunny Saturday in April–at the annual Building Day event in Northeast Portland.

Every year a group called “Rebuilding Together Portland” picks about 50 homes in the Portland area, organizes volunteers, and coordinates a series of home improvement projects for folks who need a little help. ┬áThis year Cadet Heat worked with several other Portland businesses to make needed improvements for one of the nicest ladies you’ll ever meet. ┬áCheck out the inspirational video:

Rebuilding Together Portland screens approximately 200 low income homeowners and selects about 50-55 homes for repair during the entire year. In addition, 5-8 non-profit organizations benefit from our services as well. Rebuilding Together Portland organizes over 1,700 volunteers from all walks of life to unite on the last Saturday in April each year to complete equivalent to $1,250,000 worth of improvements to the community on that one day. Other individual projects are performed throughout the year. These efforts are made possible with a 17 member Board of Directors, financial contributions, and the efforts of over 2,500 volunteers yearly.

Besides Cadet Heat, HD Supply, and GSL Properties, volunteers from Reliant Plumbing and ServiceMaster also pitched in.
