Last week at Vancouver Landing, Cadet was honored to attend the dedication ceremony of the Discovery, a new boat recently acquired by our local Vancouver, WA Fire Department to help address gaps in the regional response capabilities along the Columbia River. The nearly $1.6 million dollar price tag for the Discovery was paid entirely by a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Grant, so no local funding was necessary. The ongoing maintenance and operation of the Discovery will be funded by donations from local businesses along the Columbia River and throughout Clark County, Washington. Cadet is currently one of 21 sponsors who have donated to this fund and we have proudly committed our support for the next five years. A big part of our Corporate Mission is striving for community well-being and to make the communities where we live and work better and safer for our customers and employees. "Cadet has supported our local community for over four decades," said Cadet President, Hutch Johnson. "This new addition to the Vancouver Fire Department will save lives and property for many years to come, and we are proud to be a contributor." Visit the City of Vancouver website
